All white in summer just hits different. I don’t know what it is. You can wear the exact same outfit in beige and it looks fine, but switch to white and suddenly people think you’re on vacation even when you’re just at Target. Something about white in July light makes everything look more expensive than it is.
I went all in on white last summer. Packed almost nothing else for a beach trip and rotated like six pieces for ten days. Got more compliments than any other trip. The trick is texture, not color, when everything is the same shade.
One warning before we start. White shows everything. Sweat, sunscreen, that one pasta sauce drop, your bra. So bring a tide pen and wear seamless nude undergarments. Trust me on this.

Some real things about wearing all white in summer.
A matching white knit or linen short set. Top and bottom in the same fabric. Slides or sneakers. Lazy but very put together.
Some real things about wearing all white in summer.
Bring a tide pen. I said this already and I’ll say it again. Coffee, wine, oil, dirt. Something will hit you. Tide pen in the bag at all times.
Layer your underwear right. White over white means seamless nude bras and underwear, not white ones. White underwear actually shows more under white clothes than nude does. Weird but true.
Mix textures or it looks flat. Linen, cotton, silk, eyelet, crochet, denim. The texture is what makes all white interesting. Two smooth pieces in the same shade look like a uniform. Two different textures look styled. I save outfit combos on my Pinterest when I’m planning a trip because seeing the textures helps way more than reading a list.
Gold not silver. Gold against white in summer light looks rich. Silver looks too cool. Stack a few thin gold chains, add hoops, that’s it.
Skin showing helps. All white can feel like a costume if it’s head to toe covered. Show some shoulder or collarbone or ankle. The skin breaks up the white and makes it look like a real outfit.
Tan or brown accessories warm it up. A tan belt, brown sandals, a straw bag, a brown leather watch. The warm accent stops the outfit from feeling sterile.
Sunscreen ruins white. The chemical kind especially. Let it soak in for 15 minutes before you put white clothes on or you’ll get yellow streaks on the collar.
White shoes need cleaning. Wipe your white sneakers down every night with a damp cloth. Three days into a trip they look gross otherwise. The clean shoes are 80 percent of why the fit looks expensive.
Don’t go fully bridal. There’s a line between chic all white and accidental wedding guest. Keep the silhouettes simple. Skip lace head to toe. One lace piece, fine. Three lace pieces and you look like you took a wrong turn.
That’s the list. 30 all white fits for a summer where you want to look like you spent more than you did. Wear sunscreen, drink water, and don’t sit on anything questionable. White is a commitment but it pays you back in compliments.
